Poo-ems / Brighton & Hove, UK / Jan 2010 On-going project 5 poems written while pooping, printed in a limited edition of 10 each, placed in the toilets of all 15 public libraries of Brighton & Hove. Poo-ems is an exploration of language, space and privacy. In Nov 2009 I was challenged to write a poem every time I used the toilet, for a week. I picked the 5 out of the 6 I wrote during that time and decided to make them public, anonymously. Library toilets are interesting because they are completely out of context: bland, purely functional spaces inside bubbles of culture. Therefore, this project adds a new dimension to them as well as creating a (cheeky) bridge between the creation and receivership of art.
